Obama discussed his "dad moves" during a new interview with David Letterman for the late-night talk show legend's new Netflix project, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman.

Obama said the invitation to the dance floor surprised him "because she always mocks my dancing".

Barack Obama jokes about an experience of dancing with Prince in a new clip from the first episode of David Letterman's upcoming Netflix talk show. When the Grammy victor invited his daughter to the floor to dance, Obama says he was "surprised" that Sasha pulled him up with her.

Here's how to avoid embarrassment, dads: "I think the key is what we call staying in the pocket", the former POTUS explained. "You gotta stay in the pocket, because I think everybody here knows dads who get out of the pocket". The format of the Netflix appears to be quite different from what Letterman was formerly used to - showing clips of the studio interview itself, and other clips depicting Letterman's travels other places to better get to know his guests.

In the clip, Obama recalls musician Prince's performance at the White House in June 2015. The six-episode series will feature appearances by Tina Fey, Jay-Z, George Clooney, Malala Yousafzai, Howard Stern, and President Barack Obama.

Letterman, the former host of CBS' The Late Show, came out of retirement to host My Next Guest Needs No Introduction for the streaming platform.

After the premiere episode on Friday, Jan. 12, a new episode will debut on Netflix every month in 2018.
