£13m could bring Naby Keita to Liverpool in January

According to Mirror, Liverpool agreed a deal worth 55 million pounds (€62million) in the summer and they are ready to pay extra to lure the Guinean midfielder in the January transfer window.

What I would say is he's obviously very athletic, got a lot of qualities - a bit like Jordan Henderson has.

Since McManaman quit Anfield for the Bernabeu, where he won two Champions League titles, Liverpool have also lost Owen, Xabi Alonso, Fernando Torres, Suarez and Raheem Sterling. Someone like Gerrard, Souness, Alonso, Mascherano - these type of players.

Liverpool agreed a deal with Leipzig in August of a year ago worth £66.4m (€75m) for Keita to come to Anfield on July 1, 2018.

The player, who turns 23 in a months time, has scored 5 goals in 20 appearances for the German club so far this season.

Leipzig insisted no such deal would be allowed to happen earlier this month, with club chief executive Oliver Mintzlaff telling Bild last Monday: "Neither Naby nor his agent have made the request to leave the club in the winter".

The Spanish side attempted to sign Coutinho in the summer but Liverpool FC refused to contemplate the attacking midfielder's departure. The Guinean worldwide registered eight goals and seven assists, helping his side to an impressive second place finish in their first season as a top flight team.

Yes, he has just spent £75 million on defender Virgil van Dijk, and Naby Keita is set to arrive from RB Leipzig in a £57 million deal at the end of the season.

A vast majority of players, past and present, had paid tributes to the twinkle-toed midfielder on Tuesday and while Firmino was a little late in wishing his former club colleague, his wish was perhaps the most striking of all.

As such, he would be able to assimilate quickly into Klopp's tactical methodology.

Liverpool have paid around 48 million pounds to sign Keita.
