The medal target range announced on Tuesday was four to 10, with an expectation at least five would be delivered in Pyeongchang. The XXIII Games run from 9-25 February.
For the Winter Paralympics, UK Sport has set a target of at least seven medals, and a range of six to 12 medals.
NBC and Intel also said that viewers will also be able to "fly through the Olympic world, tour Olympic venues and different areas throughout Korea".
"We know that our goals for any Games are always ambitious", said UK Sport director of performance Chelsea Warr.
Britain is not renowned as a winter sports nation. Lizzy Yarnold succeeded Amy Williams as Olympic skeleton champion at the Sochi 2014 Games in a four-medal haul.
That number could rise to five when one is reallocated in bobsleigh following the Russian doping scandal, but the squad heading to South Korea next month is regarded as the strongest ever sent by Britain. While the technology isn't mature enough to provide that air of reality, it would be interesting to see how it's received this time around and where the technology will stand in two years in time for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
Yarnold, who has struggled this season, has been given a top-eight target for 2018 along with team-mate Laura Deas. The VR content will include the opening and closing ceremonies, behind-the-scene interviews, and all-time favorite events like ski jumping, snowboarding, figure skating, ice hockey, and curling.
Short-track speedskating star Elise Christie and her team-mates have been given a target of one-to-two medals.
