Harris started his 18th straight game Monday night when No. 6 West Virginia (15-2, 4-1 Big 12) faced No. 10 Kansas (14-3, 4-1) in Morgantown. They erased a 12-point deficit with nine minutes to go thanks to the leadership of Devonte Graham, the sharpshooting of Svi Mykhailiuk and an excellent defensive effort by the whole team.

"Yeah that's insane", Graham said.

Udoka Azubuike added 10 points.

The Big 12 does not have a specific policy against court-storming, like the SEC, for example, but has taken steps in recent years to prevent incidents of this nature, dating back to a similar issue when a Kansas State student made contact with former Jayhawk Jamari Traylor during a K-State victory celebration in Manhattan. Tip-off in Manhattan is set for 8pm.

The Mountaineers have now dropped two straight tight Big 12 showdowns after winning their first four conference games.

"Five of 27, that's not all defense", KU coach Bill Self of West Virginia's 3-point clip.

Jan 15, 2018; Morgantown, WV, USA; West Virginia Mountaineers guard Jevon Carter (2) dribbles the ball during the second half against the Kansas Jayhawks at WVU Coliseum. Still, Self refused to make anything out of breaking the drought on West Virginia's home court. That 3-point play trimmed the deficit to seven with almost eight minutes remaining.

Panicky shot selection contributed to West Virginia's demise.

"We will revisit with our student-athletes to again reinforce our expectations regarding sportsmanship issues across all sports", Lyons said in a statement. "But we're happier that we're walking out of here with a W than an L. We've had some good teams, but they've had just as good of teams as we've had".

That inspired the reprimand from Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby, who said via press release: "We must ensure that a safe environment is provided for players, coaches, game officials and fans".

KU outscored WVU 43-25 in the second half, shooting 51.9 percent from the floor during the final 20 minutes while limiting the Mountaineers to just 35.7 percent shooting during their forgettable half.

Graham said Self told the team in the locker room before the game, "Don't laugh at me, but this is what I'm wearing".
