Why would it be? As we told you last month, Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online passed 90 million units shipped. Referring to Rockstar's next game in the popular series as Project Americas, they also say that the GTA 6 release date will be 2021 or 2022. According to a fresh report, it seems like some details are already set in stone.
Grand Theft Auto 6 will reportedly be set in Miami and South America, with a new rumor suggesting that players will be able to fly between the USA and South American countries such as Columbia in the open-world sequel.
Of course, as with all rumours, all of this should be taken with several grains of salt.
Other rumours around GTA VI suggest it could have the series' first female lead character, which would make a change from playing all-male gang bangers and criminal misfits.
Along with the tip on when the game might launch also comes rumor about where the game will be set. Grand Theft Auto has been challenged for its problematic relationship with women over the years, and any continuation of that would not sit well in modern society. Considering Rockstar Games is working to finish off Red Dead Redemption 2, we don't expect to hear anything official in quite some time. However, a return to Vice City would certainly be something that fans would want to see, and allowing players to fly between the USA and South America certainly matches the level of ambition that Rockstar typically bring to its open-world games. We will keep you updated on the game as soon as more come in on it, so stay tuned for all the latest news. What about the return to Vice City?
