The Curse of the Pharaohs presents a new story set four years after the events of Assassin's Creed Origins. Instead of the mortal and deceitful Order of the Ancients, he finds undead pharaohs materializing in the streets and slaughtering civilians.
The expansion takes place in a new territory which includes Thebes and the Valley of the Kings.
Sometimes, threats from the afterlife spill out into the living world, and the Shadows of the Pharaohs are the first and most threatening example you'll encounter. There will also be new outfits and gear to unlock, alongside rare and legendary weapons all themed around Egyptian mythology. Bayek must seek out the temples of the pharaohs to uncover the curse and put them back in their tombs. Ubisoft promises the ordeal to be "a challenge even for high-level players", while Bayek's level cap has been raised to 55.
In the meantime, you can check out some of the gameplay ahead of tomorrow's launch.
If you're fond of sand dunes and salty air, interactive history lessons and non-combative fare, you might fancy Assassin's Creed Origins' Discovery Mode. It can be purchased standalone for $19.99, or as part of the $39.99 Season Pass.
