The Ford Mustang GT California Special is coming back for the 2019 model year. Outside, the Blue Oval is offering new vintage-inspired paint colors including Need for Green, Velocity Blue and the gorgeous Dark Highland Green which we saw on the Bullitt Mustang. In reality, daily-driving a Mustang is wildly impractical but, dropping cash on the new 2018 Mustang California Special starts to make sense now that Ford gave it some modern tech making it easier to live with on a regular basis.
2019 is going to look at lot like 1968 at Ford dealerships.
Today, the 2019 California Special for Mustang GT is a visual standout, featuring a trademark fading stripe that traces from the 5.0 side badge to the rear fender scoop. The automaker also is reviving the special edition Mustang Bullitt this year. The California Special wears unique five-spoke painted machined wheels. "This signature design takes its cues from the original California Special, while enhancing the personality of today's Mustang".
The package will only be available on GT coupes and convertibles equipped with six-speed manual transmissions, which get a rev-matching function for 2019 that smooths gear changes by automatically blipping the throttle on downshifts.
Climb inside the new GT Calfiornia Special and you'll be greeted by seats trimmed in black Miko® suede with red accent stitching and embossed GT/CS insignias, paired with embroidered GT/CS floor mats.
The 2019 Ford Mustang will go on sale this summer.
Mustang enthusiasts now have more opportunity to personalize their vehicle than ever before, with exciting new vintage-inspired colors including Velocity Blue, Need for Green and the iconic Bullitt model's exclusive Dark Highland Green.
