Airports in Toronto and Vancouver had reported disrupted flight schedules because of the technical issues along with congested terminals.
Air Canada's computer systems are back up and running after the company's airport systems, check in and customer call centres all experienced outages for several hours on Monday.
Officials say they have implemented temporary measures to "maintain a limited operation" while the airline's IT department works to identify the issue and restore service.
Due to a malfunction with Air Canada's system, passengers are unable to check in and drop off baggage.
Many departing flights out of YVR are now being delayed.
The airline has not immediately replied to a request for comment from CBC News.
However, the outage is affecting Air Canada travellers everywhere, not just at YVR.
Air Canada said on its website it's working to resolve the issue and apologizes for the inconvenience.
"We're now experiencing an interruption at our customer Contact Centres and".
The Air Canada AC8060 departure at 10 a.m. was cancelled and the airport is reporting that others may be facing delays.
