It looks like former WWE Champion CM Punk has confirmed his return to the UFC's Octagon.

The UFC 225 pay-per-view event is scheduled to go down on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. When asked by a Twitter user when fans will see him "cry again in the Octagon", Punk responded with a specific date.

"June Nine, after I win and lock eyes with my lovely wife, embrace my coaches and shout out my entire team", Punk tweeted.

Despite plenty of naysayers who feel Punk's spot in the UFC is unearned, it appears the fight may actually happen.

Punk (0-1-0) made his professional MMA debut well over a year ago at UFC 203, suffering a first round TKO loss to Mickey Gall.

The CM Punk MMA show isn't over just yet.

Punk debuted with the WWE in 2006 on the rebooted ECW brand and, eventually became the champion there. If Punk's statement is to be taken at face value, he'll be fighting at the event.

Since the report of the fight came out a few weeks back, a tweet would then be put out there by Punk indicating that he is fighting at UFC 225, but an opponent was not mentioned. He took on the young and talented prospect, Mickey Gall and was unable to land a single punch in the two minutes and fourteen seconds that the fight lasted before Punk tapped out to a rear-naked-choke.
