"When Joss decides it's time, we'll do it", he went on to say. "I think if you look in our library, Buffy is probably the most ripe show we have for bringing back", Newman said, though noting that he couldn't say anything concrete like an announcement or he "wouldn't get out of the building alive".

TV reboots and revivals have been all the rage lately.

The reason why Joss Whedon created Buffy the Vampire Slayer was in order to play with traditional horror tropes and turn someone who'd normally be a damsel in distress into the heroine. "And until Joss decides it's time, it won't happen".

Hear that Joss? If the apocalypse comes and you want to return to Buffy, beep Fox.

Whedon has previously stated that he doesn't plan to do revivals for any of the shows that he's worked on in spite of fan interest. There are several Buffy the Vampire Slayer podcasts like "Buffering" or "Buffy Talk". It's not so that executives can take a product that ended on its own terms and try to make it new again.

But yeah, you'd see somebody going through their life at a different stage.

Amusing enough Buffy the Vampire Slayer just celebrate it's 21st anniversary since first debuting on the air and now there's talk about a potential revival. Or will they influence the stories for the revival a la the Star Wars Expanded Universe? Buffy The Vampire Slayer fans just hungry for more news on the series, be sure to check out which episode of the show is Sarah Michelle Gellar's favorite right here. It is fun to remember that, technically, Buffy is now a Disney princess in the aftermath of the Fox/Disney acquisition, but that means the Fox network wouldn't be the default home for it.

It was a groundbreaking series that earned a devoted following over its seven seasons - including myself.

That's why Fox should leave Buffy as is.

Newman, while saying that revivals obviously have a bigger initial draw than original programming, said Buffy was always at the top of the stack.
