Microsoft Unveils Ambitious E3 2018 Plans for Xbox

Microsoft said the move from the LACC to the Microsoft Theater was done in response to changes at E3 itself, which is once again open to the public and will feature extended show hours in 2018.

Microsoft is planning to launch its new Xbox Live Avatars next month. With the 2017 release timeframe passed and the April release struck down, there's still no known release window for when the new avatars will be available.

Nothing has been confirmed about what will be revealed at E3 but a year ago Microsoft revealed the Xbox One X and games for it.

As we get closer to the biggest video game event of the year, it's natural for E3 news to begin trickling out.

As Microsoft has detailed in a recent blog post, the Xbox E3 2018 Briefing will be held in the Microsoft Theater, which happens to be located right across the street from the Los Angeles Convention Center. As expected, this conference will also take place at the Microsoft Theater.

Microsoft will retain a booth at the LA Convention Center, but it will be completely dedicated Mixer.

"The Microsoft Theater will be home to official E3 events like the Xbox E3 2018 Briefing on June 10, 2018 at 1PM PT, various Xbox FanFest activities, hands-on gameplay and demos for all E3 attendees and more". Options like wheelchairs and prosthetic limbs are going to be added to make the system more inclusive and representative of the people that play on Xbox Live.

"Since Xbox made its first appearance at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in 2000, Xbox has had a major presence at the show, delivering exclusive and powerful ways to let fans in on what we're up to, and 2018 will be no different", Microsoft's Mike Nichols explains.
