As you can see, the latter is a three-minute short film directed by renowned director Spike Jonze.
In the video and the ad, Swift and Qualley both make silly faces and dance awkwardly throughout a fancy venue wearing gowns. Swifties and haters couldn't help but point out the similarities between Taylor's work and a 2016 Kenzo World perfume ad which featured actress Margaret Qualley and was directed by Spike Jonze.
Taylor Swift is known for some cleverly hidden references in her music videos which eagle-eyed fans always spot. But it wasn't shown and forgotten.
Now two years later, viewers are trouncing Swift for having the same color scheme, concept, and dancing as Kenzo.
Fans noticed that both Taylor and the woman in the Kenzo advert wear a green dress and the style of dancing appears similar. She just nailed the moves as if she did. Once she realizes this, she's free to make ridiculous faces in the bathroom mirror, throw down some insane dance moves, twirl about in the rainy streets, and even perform the splits on a parked vehicle.
The Bad Blood hitmaker's promo for Delicate debuted at the iHeartRadio Music Awards on Sunday night (11Mar18), with the footage featuring a bored Swift, apparently sick of her superstardom, practising her fake smile for the public and the press in a mirror. It's hard to stay fresh. In the comparisons, one Twitter user called Taylor's video, "a poor man's version of Spike Jonze's ad for Kenzo".
