Good evening, everyone. It's Friday night here in North America, but in Japan, it's a lovely Saturday and a ideal time for Sega Festival 2018.

The biggest announcement so far has been the introduction of the SEGA MegaDrive Mini. We've seen several major news drops this evening from that, including Shenmue I and II getting a release bundle on modern consoles.

At Sega Fes 2018, the developer has re-entered the console market. sorta, with the reveal of the Sega Mega Drive Mini, a compact edition of their classic home console that nestled snugly in many a bedroom in the early '90s. With games like Sonic the Hedgehog, Mortal Kombat, and Golden Axe in its extensive library, the Genesis became one of the most beloved consoles of all time. Sega Ages will be a collection of classic SEGA games that can be individually purchased, instead of the boxed collection coming to other platforms.

This could be a change in direction from the company's long-standing relationship with AtGames, whose Sega Genesis Flashback console tried, and failed, to match Nintendo's efforts past year. Unfortunately, the company did not disclose more details, such as price or release date, nor gave clues about the titles that will accompany it; it was only confirmed that its launch aims to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the original launch, which took place in October 1988 in Japan.
