No word yet on whether he will contribute to the movie's score though the singer has previously expressed interest in doing more of this.

The film will reportedly go into production in London and Norfolk, England over the summer, and star Cinderella actress Lily James and actor Himesh Patel, who is best known for playing Tamwar Masood in British soap EastEnders. Plot details are being kept under wraps.

The British superstar musician, Ed Sheeran, is now said by a British tabloid to be in talks to star in Danny Boyle and Richard Curtis's upcoming untitled musical comedy. The newspaper also says Curtis is writing the screenplay and that the film will be directed by Trainspotting director Danny Boyle. The Daily Mail first reported and Deadline confirmed that Sheeran is in talks to join the cast of Oscar-winning Slumdog Millionaire filmmaker Danny Boyle's upcoming musical comedy from Working Title. Producers include Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner from Working Title, along with Matthew James Wilkinson and Bernie Bellew. Erik Baiers will oversee the film for Universal.

Sheeran isn't new to acting - he appeared on Game of Thrones and in the last Bridget Jones's Diary movie, wile he also showed up on TV series The Bastard Executioner and Home And Away.

As we reported back in March, Boyle will be helming the next James Bond movie, now titled Bond 25. Executive producing are Nick Angel and Lee Brazier. And now, the - yuck - Daily Mail has broken the news that Ed Sheeran is in talks for a role in the movie.
