We have been gifted more footage of the upcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story film in the form of a new TV Spot released earlier today.
The more we see of Solo the more we feel like this is less a Han origin story and more an origin of arguably the most meaningful relationship in his life, the one he has with his best friend and partner. But in a new TV spot, we get to see even more of this classic duo bonding on the Millenium Falcon. They include Emilia Clarke's Qi'Ra, Donald Glover's Lando Calrissian, and some kind of alien creature who appears to be piloting the Millennium Falcon. And in the newest teaser for Solo, the beginning of Han and Chewbacca's lifelong friendship takes center stage. It's one of the most important meetings in Star Wars history, and we'll finally get to see it on the big screen when Solo: A Star Wars Story arrives next month. Where Lando whistles and then lays down his hand. Either Chewie just has the worst possible poker face, or the pair may be trying to scam whoever Han is playing by making him think the cards are bad when they're not.
I've still got a good feeling about this, Star Wars fans.
We'll learn once and for all if Solo: A Star Wars Story is, in fact, the Star Wars movie we're looking for when it debuts May 25. The two previous trailers coupled with the footage here suggests that director Ron Howard may defy the odds and pull this somewhat troubled film off.
The synopsis on Solo reads: Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and risky criminal underworld, Han Solo befriends his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and meets the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga's most unlikely heroes.
