Recognizing a play he'd seen the Sixers run successfully earlier in the night, Wade knew he was going for a steal, and that steal led to a breakaway dunk to give the Heat a 100-96 lead, and stop the Sixers run. With Philly completely out of rhythm due to a suffocating full-court press, Wade went off, scoring 21 points in the first half to help Miami extend its lead to 14.

The 76ers won the opener 130-103 Saturday, to extend their overall winning streak to 17, in the highest-scoring playoff game by a Heat opponent.

Ben Simmons narrowly missed a triple-double with 24 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists, while Dario Saric added 23 more points.

Wade was up, the Sixers were down and suddenly, a series.

Wade followed that up with a key assist, rebound and bucket to secure the win.

The Heat stayed big, with Whiteside opening at center, flanked by James Johnson and Richardson at forward, Goran Dragic and Tyler Johnson at guard.

Wade actually outscored the Sixers 15-13 in the second, with the 13 points scored the fewest for the 76ers in a quarter this season.

Wade stepped into the time machine.

Father Prime was incredible in Game two.

Dwyane Wade is 36 - and he's still got it.

That's when Wade stepped back with a jumper to put the Heat up 106-98, effectively ending it. He was a game-best plus-16. Philly shot 18 of 28 on 3-pointers in Game 1.

The Heat had a lot it wanted to improve upon after getting crushed by the Sixers in Game 1 of these playoffs. Covington and J.J. Redick combined to shoot 2 of 16. Marco Belinelli and Ersan Ilyasova were on the button... initially at least.

For Joel Embiid, however, the defeat was especially bitter. But things changed quickly in the second quarter.

Simmons found his groove in the second half as he got more aggressive and became more of a scorer.

Philadelphia, which made 18 of its 28 three-point attempts in Game 1, finished 7 of 35 from beyond the arc and shot 42.1 percent for the game. And as with any friendship, they have a good old competition amongst themselves.

Embiid is obviously also a major factor on the other end.

"Once the balls start falling for you then it just goes from there". Johnson will head back to a reserve role. Game 3 and 4 will be held in Miami where South Beach fans are itching to cheer on their squad.
