The ladies of Netflix's GLOW will be back for their 10-episode Season 2 on June 29.

The Netflix series tells the heartbreaking human and heartwrenchingly amusing story of the Glorious Ladies of Wrestling, inspired by a real-life show of the same name that ran from 1986 to 1989. It's a lot more behind the scenes of the making of the show.

Inspired by the short-lived but beloved show from the 80s, GLOW tells the fictional story of Ruth Wilder (Alison Brie), an out-of-work, struggling actress in 1980s Los Angeles who finds one last chance for stardom when she's thrust into the glitter and spandex world of women's wrestling.

Glow earned Alison a Golden Globe nomination past year after the 80s-set show proved to be another runaway hit for the streaming service. Netflix passed along the following information to regarding season two: "Season 2 follows the women of GLOW as they become local celebrities, confronting the good, the bad, and the ugly realities of their newfound fame". Meanwhile, Ruth and Debbie navigate the deep-seated issues at the heart of their friendship as they work on a new season of television.

"The first season was all about training". The in-series director and showrunner Sam (Marc Maron) will also have to beat audience expectations by topping the previous season of GLOW, even as his teenage daughter Justine (Britt Baron) moves in with him.
