And now, Nintendo has announced yet another smartphone game: an action RPG called Dragalia Lost. More details about what Dragalia Lost is actually set to be released later today on Nintendo's website, however, the details will not be covered in English. Even so, we have not reached a satisfactory profit point yet, so our goal is to further expand the scale of this business to develop it into one of the pillars of revenue. The plan is to launch it in North America and Europe as well.
Nintendo has been co-developing the game with the Japanese studio, and will jointly operate it in "bringing to life the shared vision of a new gaming experience with worldwide appeal". For the first time since Miitomo, a Nintendo mobile title will have a staggered release as Dragalia Lost will launch first in Asia this summer. To help facilitate this new partnership, Nintendo is also making a purchase of 5% of Cygames' available issued stocks.
Cygames has developed several popular smartphone apps such as Rage of Bahamut, Granblue Fantasy, and Shadowverse. DeNA is another past partner of Nintendo and it acquired 24% of the stock of Cygames half a dozen years ago. These links leave Siliconera.
