Amazon Web Services (AWS) is joining forces with Kaleido, a new startup backed by Ethereum venture studio ConsenSys, in a partnership that will give Amazon customers their first shot at blockchain SaaS (software-as-a-service) solutions.
"The combination of Verizon's team of builders with AWS's extensive portfolio of cloud services and expertise means that Verizon's options for delighting their customers is virtually unlimited".
Now, however, e-commerce giant Amazon's arm has tied up with Kaleido, which was born out of Lubin's incubator ConsenSys, for a blockchain partnership. AWS doesn't plan to exclusively support Kaleido.
It's no secret that AWS is interested in blockchain technology. We look forward to hearing your insights.
"Kaleido provides a full solution for those ready for something more than do-it-yourself scripts or templates, streamlining the process of standing up secure, private blockchain networks without sacrificing the ability to customize the environment".
"The unit of Amazon has aligned itself with one of the most influential organizations in the Ethereum community". "Working with AWS complements our focus on efficiency, speed, and innovation within our engineering culture, and has enabled us to quickly deliver the best, most efficient customer experiences". The Awards also recognizes partners whose business models continue to evolve and thrive on the AWS Cloud as they work with customers, enabling them to build on Big Data analytics and take advantage of the benefits of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.
It's also not the first time Consensys has tried to launch an Ethereum platform in the cloud. The company opened on Tuesday at $1,587.80.
Geth:This is the most popular client for the Ethereum blockchain app platform. Other partners in the project include Ethereum Enterprise Alliance and Quorum.
During this process, customers face new core technologies and need help with the unique "shared IT" aspect of blockchain, where everyone controls a piece of the network, but there isn't one entity in control of the entire network. "What Salesforce did for CRMs, Kaleido will do for blockchain".
What Problems Will Kaleido Solve? "We believe Kaleido will become a de-facto standard and a global blockchain platform for business, providing an underlying foundation that until today was missing from the enterprise toolkit".
