- After playing two seasons at Kentucky, forward Sacha Killeya-Jones is transferring to North Carolina State.
Killeya-Jones has made a decision to join North Carolina State and coach Kevin Keatts. He got more time on the floor as a sophomore, but the 6-foot-10 power forward only averaged 3.3 points and 2.9 rebounds for the season.
"The past 2 years at Kentucky have been an fantastic journey and I want to thank all of my coaches, teammates, and fans who made it all possible", Killeya-Jones wrote on April 9.
Former Florida International guard Eric Lockett announced on Monday he would be finishing his career at N.C. State as a grad transfer. That following June, Killeya-Jones re-opened his recruiting and he committed to Kentucky two months later.
NCAA Division 1 basketball teams are allotted 13 scholarship spots, and the Wolfpack is now one over that number with its incoming freshman class, returning players and transfers.
Killeya-Jones will have to sit out the 2018-19 season to meet transfer regulations.
NC State signed Immanuel Bates, the No. 12 center in 247Sports' composite rankings, but size remains a clear area of need for the team.
