The Illinois men's basketball team will host Georgetown in the Gavitt Tipoff Games.
CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein reported the teams will play in Philadelphia in the event featuring non-league games between teams from the Big East and Big Ten. All games will be televised on FS1 or BTN.
The game is part of the annual series featuring teams from the Big Ten and Big East, it's set for November 13 at State Farm Center.
The teams will have significantly different looks after they met in the NCAA Tournament title game.
Among the 16 participating schools, six played in the NCAA Tournament previous year and three played in the NIT. The three NIT squads are Marquette, Nebraska and Penn State.
Seton Hall is coming off a third consecutive 20-win season and NCAA Tournament appearance and will return one starter from this past season, 2018 Big East Most Improved Player Myles Powell.
Villanova defeated MI, 79-62, in San Antonio to claim the 2017-18 national title. The Huskers lost 87-63 at Villanova in 2015, and 79-56 at St. John's last season.
This will be the third time the Illini have been a featured team in the Gavitt Games, they beat DePaul past year and lost at Providence in 2015.
Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois will be the home of the Gavitt Tipoff Games. Penn State and DePaul will be meeting. Each edition consists of eight games with a couple of teams from both conferences sitting out.
The series of games is in honor of the late Dave Gavitt, who founded of the Big East Conference and was a pioneer in the basketball world. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2006.
