The website is registered to Mr. Grygorovych via a GSC Game World e-mail address, so this announcement appears entirely legitimate.
Director of Ukrainian Studio GSC Game World, Sergei Grigorovich, said that work on the continuation of the legendary game S. T. The game's site simply has a dark concrete background with "S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2" and "188.8.131.52." painted into it, likely indicating that this game won't be around until another three years.
I didn't think we'd ever see a numbered sequel to 2007's S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, a game that will probably still be getting new mods long after we're all gone, but these are unusual times.
There's bugger all info available at the moment, but fans of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. can rejoice: you're getting a sequel.
As for the game engine, nothing has surfaced yet.
What do you think of the prospects of a new S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game?
The last mystery worth bringing up is, will GSC Game World be the publisher of this game or will there be someone else helping the team? The first title to be released in this franchise was STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl, and the second is a prequel title called Clear Sky.
