The Tamil Nadu State Board of School Examination: Directorate of Government Examinations was formed in February 1975. Students who had appeared for the Plus 2 Tamil Nadu HSC examination, may check their results at- tnresults.nic.in, which is the TN Board's official website.

This year, the Tamil Nadu Board has decided not to release the names of the toppers and rank holders on the lines of CBSE to avoid unhealthy competition among students. In 2017, the overall pass percentage for HSC +2 exam results stood at 92.1 percent. Following the national trend, girls had performed better than the boys with a 94.5% pass percentage in comparison to 89.3%. Close to 8.66 lakh students appeared for the state board examination this year.

Due to the announcement of results, the higher education minister K.P. Anbalagan visited Anna University and gave instructions to the officials on arrangements to be made at TNEA facilitation centres for registering applications for online counselling.

The Tamil Nadu Board Directorate of Government Examinations (TNBDGE) will declare TN class 12th examination results today at 9:30 am.

The result has been uploaded on the Tamil Nadu official website now.

For the last academic session of 2016-17, the HSC Class 12 results were released on May 12, 2017. Students can check the results for Intermediate/12 Class/HSC 1 Year and 2 Year results.

The Tamil Nadu Board of Secondary Education was established in 1910, and later after Independence was carved out as and separate Directorate of Government Examinations under the Department of Education, Government of Tamil Nadu. The Board conducted HSC exams from 1 March to April 6, 2018.
