Will be updated.A person familiar with the decision says the Cleveland Browns will be featured this summer on HBO's award-winning "Hard Knocks" series. The series takes a behind-the-scenes look at training camp.
Beyond the presence of Mayfield, the brash Heisman Trophy victor, the Browns should provide a fair dose of intriguing storylines, from coach Hue Jackson, who is 1-31 in two seasons in Cleveland, to the additions of quarterback Tyrod Taylor and wide receiver Jarvis Landry. The official announcement will be made later.
While the departure of All-Pro tackle Joe Thomas is a hit to the Browns' offensive line, new Browns general manager John Dorsey was far from stagnant when it came to aquiring veteran talent this offseason.
Cleveland is the 13th franchise to participate in "Hard Knocks", which began in 2001. Last year's series featuring the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won a Sports Emmy for "Outstanding Serialized Sports Documentary".
If any team knows hard knocks, it's the Cleveland Browns. Mayfield will be competing with former Buffalo Bills QB Tyrod Taylor for the starting spot, but that's not going to be the only interesting storyline.
