And to give her fans a better view of her neighbor she shared a close-up of his Instagram profile picture and drew cat ears and whiskers over it. 'Meowww Dieter meowww, ' she said later in an Instagram video.

Earlier today, Duff's 9.2 million followers got an earful as the Younger actress railed on her inconsiderate neighbor via a series of Instagram stories.

Addison said he was considering legal action against Duff and her boyfriend.

I live with a sober companion.

Addison told Page Six he is a heavy cigarette smoker, but said he is sober and does not smoke marijuana.

Duff's accusations against Mr Addison didn't just pertain to his smoking habits - she also accused him of being unemployed and financially reliant on his parents.

The mother of one went all out saying, "We know your parents pay your rent". Must be nice. Have some respect for your neighbors who work hard to live in that building. Don't be a d-k, dude. "And put your trash down the chute".

"I had to call the police this morning because Hilary's boyfriend, Matthew Koma, barged in and tried to punch me in the face", Addison alleged to Page Six about the showdown with Hilary's boyfriend.

"When they moved in I turned down the music right away". 'When she first complained about smoke, I did offer to send in my own contractors to fix the ventilation problems. But in conflict to Hilary's rant, a source for the blog says Addison is simply a social butterfly who throws a late-night after-party every so often.

Addison does come from a wealthy family.

The actress - who's no stranger to putting haters in their place on Instagram - then continued to call Addison and his partner out, claiming that she and her son, Luca, could often hear the pair whenever they fought, which often frightened the six-year-old.

She added: "And another thing ... stop breaking all your furniture when you fight with your girlfriend or boyfriend ... it scares me and my kid".

Duff asked her fellow New Yorkers for advice on dealing with "a-hole neighbors" on Instagram Wednesday. Then Duff made a decision to try and use what information she had about this guy to track him down on social media.
