Samsung is also expected to unveil the Galaxy S10 ahead of schedule. The device is supposed to be the first foldable device to be made available publicly.

If speculations are to be believed, Galaxy Note 9 will be similar to its predecessor in terms of design, but it might be 2mm shorter than Note 8.

Samsung declined to confirm the timeline for new products.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 scored better than the iPhone X in Consumer Reports' smartphone rankings, but the iPhone X was the best-selling smartphone in the first quarter. Initially, there were rumors regarding under-the-display finger sensor in Note 9, which now looks unlikely as per the fresh reports.

The so-called Galaxy X will feature a " fold-in structure", The Bell notes, comprising three 3.5in OLED panels.

Citing the "parts industry" as its source, the website claims that Samsung's "Beyond" codename is fitting for the firm's 10th-anniversary flagship, with the firm aiming to "go beyond" what it has already achieved in the smartphone market.

A6 sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/1.7 aperture, PDAF, and LED flash; on the front it has a 16-megapixel selfie snapper with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash.

Samsung has been introducing two flagship Galaxy phones mostly in March and August for the past years. Samsung might be planning to launch Galaxy S10 with in-display fingerprint scanner and 3D face sensing technology.

The handset's under-screen fingerprint sensor, the report claims, is now being developed by Qualcomm and Synaptics in the U.S., and Aegis Tech in Taiwan. To further support this report, The Korea Herald also claims that production of the Galaxy Note 9's Super AMOLED display began in April this year, two months earlier than when Samsung started production of the Galaxy Note 8 screens in 2017.

This comes after the Korean giant is rumored to announce a foldable smartphone next year during MWC.
