Battlefield V is getting battle royale

The incredible success of Fortnite and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has made battle royale into a phenomenon that numerous other companies are looking to capitalize on.

During the EA Play press conference today, DICE announced a Battlefield 5 battle royale mode-they literally just said "Royale".

Don't want to miss any of the E3 2018 action?

"Battlefield V" is the latest major blockbuster to add a Battle Royale mode - "Call of Duty: Black Ops 4" arrives this October with its own spin on the Battle Royale concept.

Electronic Arts has also released a new official multiplayer trailer for Battlefield 5 that you can also watch below. Battlefield V will not contain loot boxes nor will it have a premium pass.

At the conference, EA indicated that Battlefield V will be the "deepest" and "most immersive" game in the franchise. Fans can also expect the same kind of destructible buildings that they know and love which means you aren't necessarily safe hiding out in a house.

EA Play 2018 was rife with plenty of cool moments, but we didn't get to see as much of Battlefield V as we had hoped. Meanwhile the most popular battle royale games will put 100 players on one map.
