When Bandai Namco's trailer for Jump Force was revealed it felt as though someone had investigated the deepest, darkest depths of our minds and plunged it all into one action-packed video game. Dragon Ball, One Piece, and Naruto are highlighted in particular as those series' pit their heroes against one another. Light from Death Note was teased in the debut trailer as well.
Bandai Namco describes the game like so: "universes collide as legendary manga heroes and villains are transported to our reality". There's not much here that's unexpected for the company, but gosh does it look pretty.
Jump Force is expected to be released sometime in 2019. However, Jump Force has fans think it will be more of an open-world fighter than more traditional arcade franchises.
Some characters spotted here: Sasuke from Naruto, Zoro from One Piece.
As you can see above, the world premiere trailer for Jump Force just went live.
The game is now scheduled for a 2019 release. If we had to guess, Jump Force will involve many more popular anime characters from different Shonen Jump series, and we look forward to discovering the entire roster in the future.
My biggest problem with shonen is that it tends to really badly sideline its female characters in games.
