U.S. and North Korea is to join efforts to build a lasting and stable peace regime on the Korean Peninsula.

Almost 7,800 American troops remain unaccounted for from the 1950-53 war in the Korean Peninsula.

The former USA ambassador to South Korea was astonished at the concessions agreed to by President Donald Trump during his summit with Kim Jong-un.

South Korea's Presidential Blue House said it needed to "to find out the precise meaning or intentions" of Trump's statement, while adding that it was willing to "explore various measures to help the talks move forward more smoothly". He said he thinks holding the (quote)"wargames" is very provocative when there's a reconciliatory mood building between Washington and Pyongyang.

The comments could fundamentally change the way the United States, whose alliance with Seoul was forged after a 1950 surprise attack by the North started the Korean War, operates in South Korea.

"South Korea will have mixed feelings toward Trump's remarks", said Lee Il-woo, a director at Korea Defense Network in Seoul.

Wallace said another key issue will be when economic sanctions are lifted, since Trump has said they will remain in place until North Korea completely dismantles its nuclear program, while Kim has pushed for a phased process.
