France midfielder Paul Pogba can put an underwhelming season at Manchester United behind him and make an impact at the World Cup, according to former Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna.

Pogba has failed to put in any spectacular performances during France's two recent friendlies; a 3-1 victory against Italy and a 1-1 draw to US, but he has done enough to secure himself a spot in the starting XI in the eyes of Dechamps.

Deschamps also said Olivier Giroud should be fit for the game on June 16 after leaving the pitch with a bloodied forehead on Saturday.

Antoine Griezmann and Paul Pogba both had several attempts from long range but were left frustrated by the visitors.

"But I want to see the same Pogba I saw against Manchester City when United won 3-2".

Lloris parried Mario Balotelli's free-kick as Leonardo Bonucci scored in Nice, before allowing Julian Green's shot to beat him at the near post in Lyon, but Deschamps stood by the 31-year-old who has been capped 98 times by France.

The boss also offered assurances over Chelsea forward Giroud's fitness after he was forced off following a clash of heads with U.S. defender - and Blues team-mate - Matt Miazga. "But he will be able to face Australia", Deschamps said.

Despite rumours that he is unhappy at United and is being chased by Real Madrid, Pogba is fully focussed on succeeding with France at the World Cup.
