Senior home ministry officials said that they felt Rajnath had so far been unaware of the impending decision.

"J&K Governor has forwarded his report to the President of India for imposition of Governor's Rule under Section 92 of the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir", a spokesman of the governor's office had said yesterday, as per media reports. "Since Modi and Shah are the two most important people in the government, the NSA was doing his duty. No one questioned his commitment for the state", he said. Kashmir is not an enemy territory, and with or without us, things will never change on the ground without the healing touch policy. "You know that an interlocutor was also appointed for addressing grievances of the people in Jammu and Kashmir".

"It has become untenable for the BJP to continue the alliance in Jammu and Kashmir in the situation that has developed today". For example, there was apprehension among people that once the BJP becomes part of the coalition government, there will be threat to Article 370. "But we have defended it in the court of law", she said.

Shiv Sena senior leader, Sanjay Raut, said that the coalition government of PDP and BJP was anti-national and unnatural.

"After BJP come to power, there was a sense of insecurity among the minorities in Jammu region".
