Liverpool have added depth to their attacking options with the signing of Xherdan Shaqiri from Stoke City on a five-year deal after activating his £13 million relegation release clause.
The Reds have been long-time admirers of the Switzerland worldwide, who underwent a medical earlier today before putting pen to paper on a five-year deal which will keep him at Anfield until 2023.
The article claims that Klopp has identified Shaqiri as a top target this summer as he wants to have him as back up for Liverpool FC's front three of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.
Shaqiri joined Stoke in 2015 from Inter Milan before going on to make 84 league appearances for the club.
At the World Cup, Shaqiri scored a 90th-minute victor to give Switzerland a 2-1 victory over Serbia in the group stage last month.
Shaqiri will hope to succeed at Liverpool, having struggled at other big clubs, such as Bayern Munich and Inter. A few years ago I wanted to come too but it didn't happen.
Shaqiri wears the No. 23 for Switzerland and could well adopt the number vacated by Emre Can on his new venture at Juventus.
"I know the coach from Germany, when he was at Dortmund", Shaqiri told Liverpoolfc.com during his first official interview - which you can watch in full with LFCTV GO above.
