Nikola Kalinic confirms he turned down Croatia World Cup finalist medal

AC Milan striker Nikola Kalinic has refused to accept a World Cup runners up medal from Croatia.

Despite not playing even a minute of football at the World Cup, Kalinic's worldwide team-mates and coaching staff chose to award Kalinic with a silver medal following the World Cup final defeat to France. He was offered a second-place medal but told Sportske Novosti.

Despite not playing a minute at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, Kalinic's worldwide team-mates and coaching staff made a decision to award the 30 year old with a silver medal following the World Cup final defeat to France.

Interestingly, the East European side initially claimed that Kalinic's back injury forced him to decline coming on as substitute despite the fact that the forward had completed the warming up exercises.




Kalinic was reportedly annoyed to be handed a fourth consecutive bench role by the manager.

The president wowed fans when she flew economy class, joining fellow Croatian fans on a scheduled flight ahead of their round of 16 match against Denmark.

The Croatians went on a historic run in which they reached the final for the first time, where they lost to France 4-2.

While the second victim, thought to be in his 30s crashed his auto into a tree as he celebrated the win near Saint-Felix.
