The actress also tweeted out a petition that has been making the rounds online calling for Disney to rehire James Gunn which, as of this writing, has more than 80,000 signatures.

Before too long, he was seemingly joined by Guardians of the Galaxy co-stars Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana.

Gunn's brother Sean Gunn, who also appeared in GOTG, expressed his love in a series of tweets, saying "Since devoting his entire life to the Guardians movies and MCU six years ago, I've seen him channel that voice into his work on those movies and seen him transform from the guy who made up things to shock people..." Always will, ' Zoe wrote for her almost 840,000 followers on Twitter.

'Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters. "Let every person be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger.' JAMES 1:19", he wrote with prayer hands and a heart emojis.

The filmmaker addressed his sacking in a statement last week, saying: "My words of almost a decade ago were, at the time, totally failed and unfortunate efforts to be provocative".

In his own tweet on Friday night, Bautista, 49, wrote: 'I will have more to say but for right now all I will say is this. He's gentle and kind and care deeply for people and animals. "Im NOT ok with what's happening to him", he tweeted on Friday.

Disney has not yet announced a replacement for Gunn. You can check out the posts from Selma Blair's Twitter account for yourself below. Besides, he's only just gotten the hang of Yondu's whistling arrow.

"(Gunn) is one of the most loving, caring, good natured people I have ever met", he commented. Even these many years later, I take full responsibility for the way I conducted myself then.

Alan Horn, chairman of Walt Disney said in a statement: "The offensive attitudes and statements discovered on James's Twitter feed are indefensible and inconsistent with our studio's values, and we have severed our business relationship with him". To fire James Gunn for jokes made as a younger man, jokes for which he has already apologized, goes against the moral code you taught us all when we were kids.
