Police work at the scene of a mass casualty incident in Toronto on Sunday

Toronto Police confirmed nine people had been shot and that the shooter is dead.

The injured have been rushed to hospital with gunshot injuries after the shooting that occurred around 10 pm local time in an area outside a restaurant in Danforth, said The Globe and Mail. The bar is located in Greektown on Danforth Avenue - an area known for its restaurants.

Two more people were to be transported from the scene to a local hospital - making it a total of 10 patients so far, the Canadian station reported.

Some unconfirmed reports say that the shooter was dressed in black and opening fire aimlessly.

There is a heavy police presence at the scene and a large swath of the area has been blocked off as emergency crews respond to the situation. According to police, the shooter is dead.

You can see some videos from the scene below. I was watching a movie and all I heard were gun shots.

It's reported there are at least five victims but it's unclear if there's been any fatalities. "Victims are spread across many blocks".
