New RPG By Game Freak Called Town Is Headed To Switch In 2019

The announcement was part of the reveals made at Nintendo Direct event.

This village has known "lasting peace" until monsters suddenly appeared.

GameFreak, the creators of the Pokémon video game series, has announced a brand new RPG IP with the working title, Town.

Proceeding the trailer, a description is shown for the game which reads: "a new story in a village with a secret to hide". The preliminary name for the game is Town which is going to be a turn-based RPG. However, the ways in which players fight back differ from other Game Freak titles. The game will release next year for Nintendo Switch, and seems like an RPG worth keeping your eye on, especially if you're a fan of Game Freak. Game Freak would then go outside of Nintendo's publishing, working with Sega to release Tembo the Badass Elephant and self-publishing Giga Wrecker on PC.

Game Freak has based Town on creatures that are antagonistic in nature, therefore, serving as a threat to you as a player and your village.

We certainly didn't see this game coming, but Town sounds interesting even before you realize that this game is being worked on by an incredibly talented group of designers and developers.

TOWN is scheduled to be released for the Nintendo Switch in 2019.
