The New Orleans Saints will host the Browns on Sunday after last facing them in preseason exhibition just past year.

Gonzalez, a seventh-round pick in 2017, was 17-of-25 on career field goal attempts and 28-of-31 on PATs.

Sure, Gonzalez's teammates had his back, at least publicly, and fellow kicker Wil Lutz of the Saints made a point of consoling Gonzalez on the sideline after the game.

And we were right: the Browns already have a new kicker.

He spent four years as Florida Atlantic's kicker, including his final season under head coach Lane Kiffin.

Joseph was picked over several other kickers who came in for tryouts on Monday, said the person who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the team has not announced the signing. "Browns could reach an injury settlement with him or put him on waivers, injured", he reports. However, the Browns missed the chance to go up by 10 points when Gonzalez pulled the attempt wide left.

Then, after the Saints took a three-point lead with 21 seconds remaining, the Browns worked the ball down the field from their own 25-yard line to the New Orleans 34 after Taylor completed passes of 25 and 16 yards to Jarvis Landry and Callaway, respectively. But that 0-0-1 record is the best starting mark the Browns have accomplished in 14 years, and their roster is populated by players who aren't used to a tradition of mediocrity.
