The trailer for Captain Marvel is finally here.
Set in the 1990s, before every other MCU movie, Captain Marvel's cast includes a lot of familiar faces like the narrator - Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury - alongside Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill, Clark), Clark Gregg (Agent Phil Coulson), Lee Pace (Ronan The Accuser), and Djimon Hounsou (Korath). As suspected she is having troubles remembering the life she had on earth before she got her powers and became the member of the Starforce, an interstellar organisation that is led by Jude Law's still mysterious character. "Never occurred to me that one might come from above".
Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel is shown falling on earth after her aircraft crashes.
"Then there's this human part of her that is flawed but is also the thing that she ends up leading by". She's amusing, but doesn't always tell good jokes.
"So I was able to bring some of those same things that I've brought to full dramatic roles into this, which I'm really proud of because I think it will really set this film apart". We get to see not only how he and Carol met (and the origins of Nick's infamous pager), but it seems that meeting Carol Danvers is what keeps Fury working for S.H.I.E.L.D. Marvel has reiterated that Carol is the most powerful hero the MCU has ever seen - and this trailer sure looks to be proof of that. For her standalone movie, Danvers will be traveling into space, finding herself in the middle of a brutal war between the Kree and the shapeshifting Skrulls.
Spoilers for Infinity War follow, but the question on everyone's mind after the events of the latest Avengers movie is how Captain Marvel will play into Avengers 4.
Captain Marvel hits theaters on March 8, 2019.
