Basically, it sounds like Gordon will likely play on Sunday unless the Patriots somehow haven't finalized his trade six days after trading for him.

The thought of Tom Brady connecting with Gordon is certainly exciting for fans, and it seems "El Presidente" is just as amped up as anyone about the big news.

In a corresponding move, the Patriots are releasing running back Kenjon Barner, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per a source.

With all of the talent that he has, the Browns have held on to Gordon despite him serving multiple suspensions.

He's appeared in only 11 games since then.

Bill Belichick probably isn't all that anxious to discuss the trade that is sending Josh Gordon from the Cleveland Browns to his New England Patriots, and the coach somehow found a way to avoid any and all questions about Gordon on Wednesday.

Everyone is reacting to the news of Josh Gordon's trade to the New England Patriots in their own unique way.

Leonard Fournette is expected to return to the practice field Wednesday after dealing with a hamstring injury, the team announced. It's up to him to fit in on a team that demands discipline.

They've been trying to plug holes at receiver after starting the season without Julian Edelman (suspended for first four games), Danny Amendola (signed with Miami in free agency) and Brandin Cooks (traded to Los Angeles Rams). Conversely, the Buccaneers have emerged as an early surprise story, charging to the top of the NFC South with a pair of season-opening wins, but are winless in three home dates with Pittsburgh since 1998.

Gordon arrives in New England after a long, tumultuous career in Cleveland that included just 11 games played over the last five seasons as he dealt with off-field issues, substance abuse problems and National Football League suspensions.

Still, during a radio interview, Brady said that he hates to "make projections and expectations" about how Gordon can help. I think it's possible he would be that guy in a little different package.

"Work hard and do your job", he said. Both players are in the NFL's concussion protocol. He hasn't missed a regular-season game with the Patriots since Week 16 of the 2015 season... Sony Michel (knee) and Deatrich Wise Jr.
