The Echo Link features RCA in/out, optical in/out, coaxial in/out, subwoofer out, Ethernet and headphone jack and costs $199.99.
Based on the specs though, we would suggest waiting for the new Echo Plus if you're in the market for one of these Amazon speakers. It means if you're packing this up to take it somewhere with you, you've got another cord to worry about.
Unlike the new Echo Plus and Echo Dot however, the old Echo Plus has a volume ring for sound adjustment rather than buttons with only the action button and microphone off button at the top. Preorders start today, and it ships in October.
Amazon's hugely popular Echo Dot has got a refresh the update announced at the company's big September keynote in Seattle. You can connect it to your Echo device via Bluetooth. The result was that when you plug in the outlet Alexa discovered it automatically and then said it found Smart Plug 1. We have put the 2018 Echo Plus up against the 2017 Echo Plus to see what the differences are and what has changed in a year.
Amazon has also announced a swathe of other Alexa-enabled devices alongside the Dot including something called the Echo Input.
Alexa uses artificial intelligence to identify patterns in the lives of users, factoring in habits, weather, time of year and more.
The new iteration of Echo Plus looks more standard, cloth-covered Echo for a friendlier appearance in your living room. It has also been mentioned that you won't need any smart home hub for the setup. The smart speaker is already up for pre-orders on the Amazon India website. The Echo Input is basically like the Echo Dot without the speaker.
The Echo Plus has received a similar fabric makeover, and now has added temperature-gauging capabilities while maintaining its $150 price tag. The speaker can also be paired with other Echo speakers to create stereo sound.
Amazon Smart Plug: One of the most compelling onstage demos was built around this plug, although the plug is nothing special. Echo Plus has a seven-microphone beamforming array, which cancels background noise so it can hear you better.
At the Alexa event, Amazon also announced the newly redesigned Echo Show.
Amazon also demonstrated a new feature it calls Alexa Guard, which can recognise the sound of window glass breaking through connected home security devices and warn users of a potential break-in.
