We recently made a decision to move the release of Days Gone from the crowded February timeframe to April 26, 2019. Some heavy hitters are coming out that month, including BioWare's online action-RPG "Anthem", 4A Games' first-person shooter "Metro Exodus", and Microsoft-exclusive action-adventure game "Crackdown 3". So the choice is disappointing but wise, at least.
"We want to share a change in release date for this highly anticipated title from Bend Studio". Moving out its original February 22, 2019, release date, Bend Studio has delayed Days Gone until April 26, 2019, for polish purposes. With games such as Anthem, Metro Exodus, Crackdown 3, and Trials Rising all releasing in the same month, Bend Studio have chose to take the time to further polish the game.

Admitting that day was crowded was a smart move on Sony's part. Now it won't be released until April 26. It also give the game an opportunity to get a bit of extra polish.
