Excited Spice Girls say reunion tour will feel strange without 'Posh'

On social media, many fans shared their joy at being able to see once again a band they loved in childhood, with one typical Twitter user posting: "My 12-year-old self is freaking out".

The six-date tour, announced on Monday, is the latest reunion for one of Britain's biggest girl bands, who were formed in 1994 and sold tens of millions of albums with hit singles including Wannabe and Say You'll Be There.

The Spice Girls have added extra gigs in London, Coventry and Manchester.

Mel C couldn't help but thank fans for their overwhelming support on Twitter.

The 30-year-old Oscar victor cut a sophisticated figure in a maroon and black ensemble as she draped her frame in a taupe overcoat. She, Mel B, Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell will be reuniting, while Victoria Beckham focuses on her family and fashion line. "Wow! I did not expect that. Thank you so much!"

British pop band the Spice Girls joked on Wednesday about their plans for a new album after announcing they would reunite for a United Kingdom tour next year but said it would feel unusual performing without "Posh Spice" Victoria Beckham.

"But she did raise the point that she was never actually asked.

We care about each other, we support each other and we support her", Horner added.

Geri admitted they all "knew" Victoria wouldn't want to be involved because she's "moved on" and is very busy with her fashion empire. "The philosophy of us is that we are a band, on and off the stage and we care for each other, we support each other and we support her and she has been a huge part of our lives and we care about her, so it's all good".

In a new taped interview for The Jonathan Ross Show, which will air in the United Kingdom on Saturday, Mel C says, "Do you know what is actually quite amusing?"
