The new Nokia 8.1 will be available in three colours; Blue Silver, Steel Copper and Iron Steel. We can thus expect the smartphone to make its way to India this month as well. For the camera duties, the smartphone comes with an 8-megapixel sensor with f/2 aperture and 85-degree field of view at the front.
The device is powered by the latest 10nm based Snapdragon 710 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. Nokia 5.1 Plus features a pure design with 2.5D curved front and rear glass, complemented by curved edges and a high-gloss finish. The storage can be expanded p to 400GB via microSD card and the body will be made of up 6000 Series aluminium. The rear camera comes with features such as Optical Image Stabilization, Electronic Image Stabilization, dual PDAF, AI scene detection and optimization for low-light photography. Connectivity options include Dual 4G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, GLONASS and a USB Type-C port. The dual 13MP/5MP rear sensor with electronic video stabilisation helps ensure you film steady, sharp videos and perfectly capture your special moments with friends. Lastly, there's a 3500mAh battery inside the handset which supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. The company is also touting the presence of 18W fast charging. The Nokia 8.1 is dubbed as the global variant of the Nokia X7 smartphone that was launched in China in October. It measures 154.8x75.76x7.97mm, and weighs in at 178 grams. It also comes with support for Google ARCore.
"We've seen great success in the value flagship category". The Nokia 8.1 utilises the latest display technology which HMD calls Pureview display technology. Nokia is calling this the PureDisplay and it has a 1,000,000: 1 dynamic contrast ratio.
