It's official: Andy Samberg and Sandra Oh have been tapped to host the 2019 Golden Globes!

"Sandra and Andy are the flawless choices to host this world-class event".

While that may seem like a odd coupling on paper, the duo were a highlight when presenting at the Emmy Awards together in September; an appearance which likely had a role in today's announcement.

Oh is coming off a surprise hit in BBC America's "Killing Eve", for which she serves as executive producer and star.

This is only the second time the Golden Globes has been hosted by a duo, following the three-year stint of Samberg's former "Saturday Night Live" colleagues Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.

Samberg is a two-time Golden Globe victor for Brooklyn Nine-Nine, while Oh won a Globe in 2006 for her work on ABC's Grey's Anatomy.

According to E! the 2019 show will debut a new award 'measuring 11.5 inches tall, 3.75 inches wide and 3.75 inches deep. The Golden Globes led NBC to the nightlong win in total viewers despite National Football League playoff competition.

"Assembling" a hosting team is a riskier proposition as evident by the much-maligned team-up of Anne Hathaway and James Franco at the Oscars though Jenna Elfman and David Hyde Pierce received good marks for their Emmy emceeing stint.

The actors, who have each won the coveted award, will take the stage in January in Los Angeles to present the show which honors exceptional talent in both film and television. This year, she became the first actress of Asian ethnicity to receive an Emmy nomination for drama series lead, for Killing Eve. NBC picked it up a few days later.
