Jose Mourinho reveals how United improved with Paul Pogba benched

Marcos ROJO plays in first Manchester United match against Arsenal since May

Diogo Dalot: Manchester United hosting Fulham a 'big game' after winless run

The 25-year-old has been an unused substitute in five of the past seven matches and did not even make the bench for Wednesday's 2-2 draw against Arsenal.

"When the team is defensively stronger and does not need in midfield people that are more about giving some balance to the team than being involved in creating and attacking dynamics - the day we are stronger defensively, I think the horizons for Fred change completely", said Mourinho. Just three days after thrashing North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur 4-2 at the Emirates, Arsenal came into the game at Old Trafford brimming with confidence.

The Red Devils have only collected 23 points in their opening 15 games in the Premier League to highlight their inconsistent form in Jose Mourinho's third season in charge. There is no game in which you can relax.

"I feel ready now for a run in the side and as long as the coach needs me I will be ready for him".

United are 18 points behind league leaders Manchester City and eight behind the Champions League places.

United twice came from behind against Arsenal - fast becoming a feature of the season - to prove they are not ready to throw in the towel and Dalot insists the whole squad is behind the manager.

"And as footballers, we just enjoy our football and want to win games". For me it is very good. "The spirit and fight is there and we will get there".

The Gunners looked as potent as ever when they went forward against Manchester United, but were shaky at the back and seemed to switch off at crucial times.

"We sleep thinking about getting into the top four and we wake thinking about getting into the top four", Dalot added.

"Everyone at the club will now be working as hard as we can to ensure Rob is back on the pitch as soon as possible".
