The gaming franchise that also turned into a series of films has been going for 25 years and the new promo is nothing short of anniversary release.
Warner Bros has released the first screenshots for Mortal Kombat 11, showing Scorpion and Raiden; the two characters that were featured in the game's debut trailer. Following the game's announcement, a press release was sent out that divulged new information about one of Mortal Kombat 11's most notable features: its custom character variation system. Finally, NetherRealm Studios has promised a roster of "new and returning Klassic Fighters", with those who pre-order also getting exclusive access to Shao Khan.
As you can see from the video above, a familiar blood tipped harpoon smashes through the presentation screen and we are treated to a lightning version of the familiar Dragon Logo for Mortal Kombat, sending the crowd into a frenzy at The Game Awards and millions watching around the world via livestream.
Not a lot of details were given during the clever twist reveal, aside from a January 17 date for a community reveal. "This game showcases NetherRealm Studios' extensive talent to innovate and create epic experiences for the Mortal Kombat fans and new players alike".
Mortal Kombat 11 will be available on April 23, 2019 on Playstation 4, Xbox One, PC & Nintendo Switch.
Of course, we also get a comment by Mr.
The trailer at least partially matches up with a recent Reddit leak though, which predicted the game would be shown at The Game Awards and that it features a plot involving time travel.
